RICHARD WIGGINS (SILENT FORUM) Silent Forum frontman Richard Wiggins first joined the band (then brilliantly named How I Faked The Moon Landing) in 2013. Fast forward 4 years, and the newley-monikered Silent Forum are happily ploughing their own DIY furrow., self-releasing EP's and booking their own shows. Richard signed up to Barod to improve his understanding of the music industry and get some broader experience, with a view to growing the band's audience and consequently booking bigger gigs.
JACK PERRETT Jack Perrett is a Cardiff-based solo artist. Don't be fooled by his youthful appearance though, Jack's been at it for 23 years now, self-releasing his music and managing his own affairs. He could do with some help now though and would love to find a manager to move his career along, hence him signing up to Barod. Jack hopes to meet new people and find novel ways to improve his career and his work.

PHIL JONES (DUSTY CUT) Phil is the long-standing (7 years!) frontman of Cardiff's ethereal indie-folksters 'Dusty Cut' and has joined us at Barod to meet new people within the music industry and broaden his knowledge, with a view of 'the more I know, the easier it'll be'. Like many at Barod, Dusty Cut are currently self-releasing their music but would love to be signed to a label and if they were to pick up an experienced manager too then all the better. Phil is looking forward to 1-2-1 sessions at the end of the course.
NAOMI RAE Solo Artist Naomi Rae has put cover songs on the back burner with her dreamy secret EP launch earlier this year. She has been going from leg to leg to excel her music and has come along to Barod to educate herself in everything business related, along with the opportunity to meet like-minded people in similar positions. Rae’s currently self-managing, releasing and booking but very much on the market for someone to snap her up and help push her to the next level in her career.
MATTHEW HANN (BEATBOX HANN) Matt is a solo beatboxer which he has been doing for 13/14 years but claims to have only taken seriously for the last 3/4 years. Matthew is currently looking for a label and is seeking a live agent. He is self-managing for the time being but will look for a manager in the future. Matthew is hoping to gain usable knowledge on how the music industry works to help with his career.
ANTHONY ICKHAM (GRAND TRADITION) A collective of musician’s form to create Grand Tradition; they’ve have been together for 2 years now and are in the midst of releasing their first 5 track EP. In the mean time of looking for a live-agent or manager, Anthony signed up to Barod to further his knowledge of the industry to continue what he’s doing, only better. Having already had interest from BBC introducing and plays from Nation Radio, we’re excited about what’s next on their cards.
VINCE JAMES Cardiff’s known and loved solo artist Vince James busks and plays shows singing of his native Welsh surroundings. He’s celebrated single releases and festival slots this year and is currently looking to find ways to monetise in order to continue recording and releasing music, looking to Barod for this insight.
DANIEL HULETT (OFELIA) South Wales indie folk band Ofelia have been blessing us with their 3 part harmonies for 2 years now and are soon to grace us with their EP launch. Self-managing and releasing, they have created a great following and name for themselves. Looking to the future with the hope of finding management, in the meantime, they have joined Barod to find out more on how to monetise through their music and to grasp the practice of ‘DIY'.
TOM STUPPLE (FOUNTAINHEAD) Fountainhead, with their country-tinged folk music, have been engaging the hearts and ears of anyone that hears them for 14 years now. Having previously been self-releasing their music, they are now in the search for a label, live agent or manager. Songwriter and Guitarist Tom signed up to Barod with the intention of learning more so the band can push forward in the right direction and continue to grow. After earning themselves great reviews from their album release of ‘Nothing Can Stay’’ in 2016, we can only look forward to what comes next.
SAM JONES (PALOMINO PARTY) The Distinctive Palomino Party have been gracing people with their Alt-Rock sound for 5 years. They’re currently signed to ‘Black Cherry Records’ and have basic knowledge of the Industry. Noticing the need for knowledge whilst being self-managed, Sam wanted a more in-depth explanation of the promotion and management which he could utilise with the band.
JOHN ADAMS Hugely talented John Adams is a self-releasing artist in the search of a manager. Since releasing his album ‘The Pavement is My Stage’ in 2013, he’s been growing his audience and playing as many shows as he can. He chose to take part in the Barod course to further his knowledge of the music industry to excel his career during his search for management.
JAKE BRIMBLE (PROJECT) Rapper, songwriter and composer Jake Brimble presents himself as Project and is currently seeking a label, a manager and/or a live agent. With his recent launch of ‘Aftermath’, he’s looking at every opportunity that will benefit him within the industry. He signed up for the course to have his own questions and queries answered by industry professionals. Enabling him to advance his knowledge and excel his musical career until getting industry support through management or a label.
RORY COUGHLAN-ALLEN (BORIS A BONO) Rory, also known as Boris a Bono is a Self-Managing Producer, Recording and performing artists based in South Wales. As well as playing regular shows locally round Cardiff, he was nominated for this year's Welsh Music Award. He joined Barod to gain knowledge of how to best excel his music and knowledge of the industry, specifically around reaching wider audiences and like many, finding where the money is.
MICHAEL GEORGIOU (LOGICAL MIKE) Logical Mike is an aspiring comedian with a witty bite to his humour, he’s new to his craft and diving head first into anything that will help him get as many people listening as possible. Passionate and driven, he’s interested in finding help with publishing; singing up to Barod with the interest in becoming ‘business savvy’ and to gain knowledge in management and how to get himself out there.
ASHLEY EVANS(THE BROADCASTS) Whoever said drummers aren’t hard working was wrong! The Broadcasts drummer, Ashley Evans has joined Barod to get further insight into the music industry from a professional perspective to further his band. However, 5 years down the line with an understanding of how demanding being a musician and doing the ‘business side’ is, they’re ready to find a manager/label/ booking agent and take things to the next level.
